Breaking glass has a unique way of making your heart sink. It’s never good. From car crashes to broken plates to the living room window, no one likes that sound. Not to worry, it won’t be the end of the world, but it will need to be addressed. The following would be our recommendations to address this disappointing situation.
- stay calm! – getting worked up won’t help anything. As a matter of fact it likely will only make matters worse. Trust us.
- sweep the area and make sure no one walks around the broken glass without shoes on for a few days at least!
- depending on the size of the damage, you may be able to cover the broken pane with some plastic and hold it in place with tape until the repair can be made.
- Contact your landlord! The sooner the better. The landlord will want to ensure that the work is done correctly and because the landlord has multiple properties they can often get a faster response and a better service rate than you are likely to get on your own.
We hope these tips help you. And maybe next time ask your son to toss the football outside in the back yard!
